IT-girl, hostess, socialite, heiress. Lately it seems that these titles of the footloose and fabulous are the words on everybody's pout. From Hilton to Lohan, Richie to Olsen the poor little rich girl has officially replaced the rock star. But what is it about these pretty young things that keep us so hooked? Has doing nothing become the new something?

As I'm sure you all know by now, my name is Munroe, fierce ruling diva and host(ess) to some of the top parties in the Brighton social calendar. By day I work electro-pop singer and songwriter as well as adding my Munroe touch to the world of fashion, by night you can see me guarding the guest-list at various hot hotspots. So I'm sure it comes to no surprise when I say... GIRL, YOU BETTA WORK.

And work is exactly what these girls do. Whether they're famous for being famous, rich for being a bitch or just getting trashed until their trust fund is cashed, these girls know something that most of us don't. They know societies weak spot for a good old bit of lip service and that sadly appearances really have become everything.

Now, I would be a liar if I said that I didn't strive for the glitz and the glamour that I have only just become to achieve, that I don't enjoy the ridiculousness of the fashion industry and the perks of partying. But what we have to realize is that such things are not meant to be lived and breathed with such conviction. As mother dearest would say, everything in moderation.

If we have anything to learn from these girls, it is that sometimes we all need a bit of rehab. Yes it may indeed be the case that these days image and appearance are what get you ahead, but we should also try not forget what it is that keeps you there. Because sooner or later not even the strongest Botox is gonna keep you in mink, because sooner or later every bombshell explodes. But if you're quick in your heels you may be able to avoid the blast.

Poor little rich girls, we salute you. For showing us what could really happen with too much of the good stuff and too much time on your hands. Live for your glamour ladies, don't die for it.
