community newsPhnom Penh Pride!Wednesday, 25 February 2009 Two Brighton University graduates aim to fight discrimination in Cambodia by helping run an LGBT Pride event in Phnom Penh. Meghan Lewis is looking for both financial and professional support - particularly from the Brighton LGBT community - to help get this important project off the ground: "We are hoping to raise visibility and reduce discrimination in Cambodia - we have a really enthusiastic team of local people wanting to promote LGBT rights in over here". Plans so far include a queer film festival, workshops, health support and various other events in the city. The aim is to hold events in May to coincide with International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) 2009.
